Regular use of Hunter Chemical’s fume suppressant product Fume Control HCA-9.3 is a reliable method of consistently meeting federal government surface tension requirements. HCA-9.3 is a single formulation, drop-in product that is both PFOS and PFAS-free. Since being commercially available starting in mid-2024, the product has gained widespread acceptance across the major end-use applications, with repetitive shipments to customers across the U.S. and Canada.
On-site experience shows that regular usage of HCA-9.3 keeps operators under the federal limit of 40 dynes/cm as measured by stalagmometer and 33 dynes/cm as measured by tensiometer. Additional benefits include extending the lifespan of mechanical ventilation systems/scrubbers and providing support in meeting OHSH permissible exposure limits (PEL).
HCA-9.3 works by lowering the surface tension of the plating bath and forming a stable foam blanket across the surface. This barrier reduces airborne emissions and protects the plating facility’s air. An alternative version of HCA-9.3 is available with defoamer added for those operations with limited freeboard.
